Ki Tavo (“It will be when you enter the land”)

Deuteronomy 26:1 – 29:8

Amidst a copper boiling sky and oily ground here are the curses for abandoning Torah including enslavement and skin boils and miscarriage and eating one’s own children and a list of causes for these misfortunes.  On the left from the top they start with idolatry, disrespect for elders, cheating on one’s boundaries, tormenting the blind, rejecting the widow and orphan, sexual relations with one’s father’s wife.  On the right from the top: sex with animals, sex with a sister, or mother in law, striking another stealthily, taking a bribe to kill, and not upholding Torah.
