The history of humanity making offerings to the higher powers has been a constant to improve sometimes threatening crises. In this specific parsha, various kinds of offerings are described. When the Kohanim and the those who are making these offerings do it from their heart and honest faith, the fire was known to take the shape of a lion. And when the “sacrifices” were made for personal gain and false guilt, then the fire turned into a ravenous dog. Let us open our souls authentically and when we ask for forgiveness and when we seek blessings may we deserve them by giving blessings and acting justly and compassionately toward others.
