Shoftim (“Judges and officers shall you appoint”)

Deuteronomy 16:18 – 21:9

It is commanded that the king should write his own Torah.  And Torah is known as the waters of truth.  Out of the 4 letters – the unpronounceable name of Hashem – the Tetragrammaton – emerge the Kabbalistic “etz chaim” – the tree of life with the ten sephirot – energy centers intermingled.

Also in this parsha are rules regarding at least two people testifying to someone else’s misbehavior including idol worship and the forbidding of planting trees or monuments  in sacred places; and not inquiring from a soothsayer seen behind the men in the upper right.
