Noah

Parsha Noah is mostly about Noah and the flood.  Once the rains stopped, and the ark came to rest on the emerging mountains, Noah released first a raven and then a dove to see if there was something other than exposed rock and the waters.  They dove at first saw the destroyed world and retuned not wanting to live in the emptiness.  The next time the dove would return with evidence of vegetation which meant vegetation had emerged and the creatures on the ark could find food on the land.

The last section of the parsha is about the building of the tower of Babel.  Here a structure was made where humans competed with Hashem in the art of creation regarding what they make is more important than what nature provides.  The arrogance was such that they even valued the property more than human life and cared more if a brick fell than if a human.  They lost the perspective of awe in creation and selfishness dominated as it does often today where we believe what we make justifies the destruction of the planet.
