Can we lead an ethical life? That was the question for the generations at the time of the flood. There were seven Noahide laws at the time: not to deny or destroy the Oneness of God; not to curse God for what happens; not to murder; not to eat a limb of a still living animal; not to steal; not to indulge in sexual abuse; and to have honest judges to ensure justice. People then were so vile that they would steal everything, even a pea. Note also the first sentient beings into the ark were birds as they are closer to the heavens. May we too soar honestly in our own ways.
