NITZAVIM

NITZAVIM

This parsha has for me one of the most moving and penetrating words and images: as we seek understanding and even wisdom and closeness to the One Creative Source, we are told that it is not to be found so much in the heavens and the cosmos though they certainly are witnesses to Hashem’s glory, and it is not to be found in the depths of the ocean, but it is to be found in our own  mouth and in our heart.  These words spoken by Moses are addressed to those who were there (seen on the left below the lips) and to those who are not actually there but those in the future, suggesting that we too are witnesses to the message (shown with the modern family on the right.)  The colors around the heart of those of the Sephirot, the metaphorical energy centers of our souls.
