This parsha contains the famed priestly blessing – delivered by the Kohanim with their fingers parted (here the hands have the divisions and colors of the four worlds spoken of in Kabbalah) – so that the transference of blessing is through them. The midrash tells of a traveler lost in the desert, out of water. And suddenly he sees a thriving fruit tree and a spring next to it. He is saved. But how to thank for this blessing that which already is blessed. The tree and water are already perfect. And then he wishes that they will provide for others. What can he wish for them? That they provide for others. May we all be blessed and protected, as begins the birkas kohanim – the priestly blessing.
