Portrayed here is the war against the Midyanites who had first tried to entice the people into immorality.

Balaam tried to escape by using his magic to fly into the air but Pinchas pursued him using his sword that emitted snakes and he killed him.

On the right below is a green woman representing the women of the Midyanites who survived even though the army had been instructed to kill everyone – and those women who were guilty of idolatry and seduction turned green.
