This parsha has some rules for the priests to only approach the dead who are from their own families otherwise they are forbidden to be with the dead. And this is a harsher limitation where people with physical deformities are not allowed to participate in certain rituals – these being the blind, crippled hunchback, and dwarf. Seems archaic to restrict them but “purity” is a theme here taken to the extreme if one blasphemes, they are to be stoned by others. There is also mention of the holidays and the loaves to be prepared. This is one of the parshas that has trouble for contemporary customs and values.
