As Hashem called for a census, leaders of each of the tribes were selected to be with Moses and Aaron. The parsha also speaks of how to move the various articles in the Mishkan including the holiest, the ark, which was covered with material that reflected the colors of the sea and the sky, and those who carried it were neither to touch it, even really look at it. The power of the holiest objects demanded respect, as they represent Hashem communicating on our plane of existence. Even though they are physical objects their spiritual connection is why these are here, reminding us of our own spiritual connections, something we often forget.
