Looking at this image counterclockwise: The prophet Amos speaks of Hashem sifting us as with a sieve and that having abandoned the wisdom of and connection to Hashem, we have fallen by the sword and been in exile but he also reminds us that we have and will be gathered from our diaspora and return to the destroyed cities and land and we will rebuild and restore David’s mishkan and the mountains will pour wine and we will taste the fruits of our labors and plant again our gardens and the will be abundant and we will drink the best of our labors. So, though we suffer, sometimes earned by our ignorance, there are the possibilities of growth and productivity and celebration.
