Who is to take on the challenging work for us? Actually all of us participate, as did the entire congregation in the desert, when once a year one of two goats would be selected by lot by the Kohen Gadol – the high priest – and all would contribute to the purchase of this creature, and the priest would place his hands on it to carry the transgressions of all of us. Then a person would be selected to take it to a cliff where it would be sacrificed, so that we too could be rid of our iniquities. And here the Zohar spins off into describing that man being recognized by having one blue eye bigger than the other with hair on this eyelid. Why? Not explained, but such a being took on the responsibility for all of us. Maybe by seeing more?
