Toldot ( “And these are the offspring of Isaac”)

Genesis 25:19-28:9)

Rebecca Jacob’s mother has convinced her younger and more spiritually awake son to disguise himself as his rough skinned brother Esau so that his now blind father Isaac will bless him first.  Jacob had doubts about doing this, while he wore a hairy garment to fool his father.  He prepared lentils that his father liked to eat and served them pretending to be Esau, while his brother the more physical and cruder of the two was out hunting.

Esau is seen in the upper left about to spear a wolf.

Above Isaac is the birth of these twins where Jacob was holding onto the first born hairy Esau’s leg to try to pull him back into the womb so Jacob could be born first but when Esau threatened his mother’s life even as the two were being born, Jacob relented.
