How to bless others? Here Aaron has been made the Kohen Gadol and as the Mishkan has been assembled he is called on to give what we know as the priestly blessing – May the Lord bless and keep you. May the Lord’s face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up The face and grant you peace. Midrash says that the priest’s hands should be at the same level as his mouth and tongue so that truth will emanate from him not as a superior but as an equal qualified to lead. Yet still questioning himself, Aaron was uncertain that he should light the sacrifice, and from the sky came down Hashem’s fire. Two of Aaron’s sons witnessed this and wished to make the leap to higher consciousness. They weren’t ready. Are we?
