The seven Aliyahs of Vezzot Hab’rachah
top right – Moses reminds the people of Hashem’s fiery metaphoric hand at Mount Sinai’s revelation and blesses the tribe of Reuben (red) and Judah (blue).
top left – He continues blessing the tribes this time Levi with the magical Tummin and Urim (a “computer” of the future) and Benjamin whose territory will be where the future Temple will reside.
top center – Joseph’s tribe is now blessed with the sweetness of produce from the sun and moon with crops and cattle like the ox and the one horned re’em.
bottom right – Zebulun who will be fish the seas and Issachar who in their tents will study Torah are now blessed. And Gad compared to a lion tearing off the head and arm of its prey, marches as most powerful at the heads of the army.
bottom left – Dan’s tribe is said to be like a lion, Naftali will be by the waters, and Asher rich in olives and children and all will be by mountains the shed gold and silver. Moses also now blesses all the tribes reminding them of Hashem’s majesty and assistance.
bottom center – And finally on the day of his death Moses looks over the holy land sworn to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Moses was one hundred and twenty and his eyes had not dimmed. And there were no other prophets whom Hashem knew face to face.
center center – And the last Aliyah is actually the first Aliyah of Genesis, so the cycle begins again.
