KI TAVO

The seven Aliyahs of Ki Tavo

This parsha is another with blessings and warnings.

top right – The first fruits are brought to our spiritual leader the Levites in the Temple appreciating their service for us and the blessings of Hashem from bringing us through slavery to the revelation and freedom.

top left – We are to tithe at least every three years for the poor and the Levites – the stranger, the orphan and the widow.

top center – We are to listen to the wisdom and ethics of the Torah and to walk in Hashem’s ways

bottom right – A large stone is to set across the Jordan with the entire Torah written on it and other sets of stones are to be set up (here with the colors of the Sephirot)

bottom left – The tribes are split between Mt Grizzim and Ebal and between then the Levites with the ark speak to them of the blessings they will receive in productivity if they follow the faith and then they are warned they will be punished for actions like making idols, dishonoring parents, illegally changing land markings, misleading the blind, having sex with inappropriate family members and animals, beating the innocent and killing for profit.

bottom center – This section continues with the blessings above like bearing healthy children and having full granaries; and if we abandon Hashem we will be cursed with copper skies (global warming?)and disease(covid)and blindness, and we will consume our children.

center center – We are reminded of the wonders we have witnessed like our shoes never wearing out on our long journeys, and the destruction of evil leaders.  And now we have been given a heart to hear and see.
