This haftorah is more a narrative than others. A man named Manoach and his wife are barren. Their prayers lead to her meeting a man who tells her that she will have a child. Her husband wants to meet this man and to offer him a meal but when he comes to the fields where the woman has just seen the man, he has gone. When he does meet the man, he wants to thank the man for this blessing. The man accepts the invitation but does not eat the food. The man steps into the flames and rises up as he really was an angel sent on this mission to have them raise a Nazir as their son who becomes the controversial Samson. The relationship to the parsha is suggested by the Sotah contrasted to this woman. But maybe we can consider that anyone who offers us a blessing is indeed an angel in disguise.
