Behor Haftorah – Jeremiah 32:6-27

Behor Haftorah - Jeremiah 32:6-27

Here Hashem tells the prophet Jeremiah to buy land in Israel even though it is being destroyed by enemies both seen and hidden. This was a gesture of the promise of redemption and Jeremiah signed two documents in exchange for money that guaranteed the land.  The deed was to be put in an earthen jar for preservation into the future when peace would return.  This exchange happened before the witnesses and the jailers where Jeremiah was being held at the time.  The parsha ends with Jeremiah praising how the hand of Hashem provides loving kindness for thousands and forgives those who have lost the way and counsels us that even in times of confinement and fear, we are connected to a guiding Creator and when we realize this we can whether the fears and limitations.
