In this parsha are many laws including specific sexual prohibitions whose actions can create an eruption of fire and earth – volcano and earthquake. Stoning was demanded for those engaged in sexual contact with animals and homosexual relations. To lie with a woman during her menstruation cut you off from the people and specific purification was required.
